What are Life Transitions?
Life transition is a broad category that describes a range of challenging life events.
Some common life transitions include:
- end of relationship, separation, or divorce
- death of a loved one
- retirement
- new baby
- aging parents
- career or workplace issues
- empty nest syndrome
- difficulty adjusting to a new city
- chronic illness
Life transitions are a natural part of the lifecycle, and often opportunities for personal growth. However, there is often stress, confusion, anxiety, and/or depression that may be associated with these changes. Therapy can help people pinpoint the issues or obstacles in their lives, help them learn adaptive coping skills, and generally provide support as they enter new phases in their life and assume different roles.
Therapy can be helpful if you are going through a life transition of any kind. You can contact East Hill Counseling Services, LLC at (850) 465-3908 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00PM to schedule an appointment.
